Josh Hopkins stars as Raymond Millbury on "Ally McBeal," the new associate introduced at Cage & Fish in the fifth-season premiere. Raymond arrives at the firm alongside Jenny Shaw and quickly becomes part of the office’s personal and professional chaos, including a flirtation between Ally and Glenn Foy and his own growing connection to Jenny. Easygoing and confident, Raymond adds a more relaxed male presence to the ensemble while stepping directly into the firm’s eccentric rhythm.
Before joining "Ally McBeal," Hopkins had already built a growing television résumé. His early screen work included a main cast role on the fourth season of "New York Undercover," a part in the television film "Pirates of Silicon Valley," and recurring work on "Jack & Jill." By the time he joined "Ally McBeal" in 2001, he was an established working television actor moving into a higher-profile network role.
In addition to his television work, Hopkins had begun building a screen career that moved between drama and lighter material. That mix made him a natural fit for "Ally McBeal," a series built around legal stories, romantic complications, and offbeat comedy. Raymond’s arrival gives Hopkins one of his first major roles on a widely recognized primetime series.
Outside of "Ally McBeal," Hopkins would continue working steadily in television, but at the time of his arrival on the series, Raymond represented an important step forward in his career. On the show, he enters as one of the principal new faces of the final season and helps refresh the ensemble after major cast changes.
