SERIES FINALE -- ALLY DECIDES TO LEAVE BOSTON AFTER MADDIE COLLAPSES FROM OVERWHELMING STRESS -- Maddie (Hayden Panettiere) passes out, and Ally (Calista Flockhart) realizes her daughter is suffering from the strain of too many recent changes. Concluding that Maddie needs a more stable life, Ally decides to move back to New York with her. During Ally’s final hours in Boston, she is visited by Renee (guest star Lisa Nicole Carson), Georgia (guest star Courtney Thorne-Smith), and Billy (guest star Gil Bellows), who appears as a ghost. Greg Germann, Jane Krakowski, Portia de Rossi, and Vonda Shepard also star.
