Brian Hallisay stars as Ben Hunter on "Revenge," the straightforward and dependable police detective who becomes romantically involved with Emily Thorne during the series’ fourth season. Unlike many figures in the Hamptons, Ben is presented as more grounded and less entangled in the world of inherited wealth and manipulation, giving Emily a connection to someone outside the show’s usual web of betrayal. His role adds both emotional conflict and moral pressure as Emily’s secrets grow harder to contain.
Before joining "Revenge," Hallisay had built a steady television career through roles on series such as "Privileged," "The Client List," and other network and cable dramas. He became known for his work in romantic and dramatic television, establishing himself as a familiar presence in ensemble casts. By the time he joined "Revenge," he already had substantial experience playing sympathetic and emotionally direct characters.
In addition to his work on "Revenge," Hallisay has continued acting in television across a range of genres, including drama, thriller, and procedural storytelling. His screen career has included recurring and regular roles that highlight his ease in both relationship-based plots and more suspenseful material. Ben Hunter stands as one of his notable later network television roles.
Outside of "Revenge," Hallisay has remained active in television, continuing a career built around steady dramatic performances. His portrayal of Ben gives the show a more grounded male presence in its final season and offers a contrast to the more manipulative figures in Emily’s life. On "Revenge," he brings sincerity, calm authority, and emotional steadiness to a character caught in the fallout of Emily’s long campaign.
