Parker Stevenson stars as Billy Hazard on "North and South, Book II," the younger Hazard brother and a Union officer whose military service places him directly inside the Civil War conflict. In the sequel miniseries, Billy is part of the Hazard family’s Northern perspective, and his storyline connects the personal costs of war with the larger national struggle dividing the Main and Hazard families. Stevenson plays Billy in the 1986 production, taking over the role for Book II.
Before joining "North and South, Book II," Stevenson was already well known from television and film. He had gained major recognition as Frank Hardy on "The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries" and had also appeared in films such as "Lifeguard" and "Stroker Ace." That earlier work established him as a familiar television lead before he stepped into the role of Billy Hazard.
In addition to his work on "North and South, Book II," Stevenson continued his career in television, later becoming widely known for "Baywatch." His résumé spans both film and television, and his role as Billy places him in one of the major historical miniseries productions of the 1980s. The part adds a period-drama credit to a career often associated with adventure and mainstream television.
Outside of "North and South, Book II," Stevenson continued working steadily on screen, building a long career across multiple television eras. His portrayal of Billy Hazard remains one of his notable 1980s miniseries roles and ties him to a large-scale historical drama that remained prominent in television event programming of its time.
