Sol Rodríguez stars as Daniela Mercado on "Devious Maids," the spirited and independent daughter of Rosie Falta who arrives from Mexico and quickly becomes part of the show’s evolving family storylines. Daniela enters the series with strong opinions and a desire to live life on her own terms, often clashing with Rosie while also navigating relationships, identity, and her place in a new environment. Her presence adds a younger, more rebellious perspective to the series’ later ensemble.
Before joining "Devious Maids," Rodríguez built her career through Spanish-language television, including work on Nickelodeon Latin America’s "Grachi," where she gained recognition with a younger audience. Her background in youth-oriented programming and bilingual performance helped position her for a role on a U.S. series that blended comedy, drama, and telenovela-style storytelling.
In joining "Devious Maids," Rodríguez becomes part of a storyline centered on family, independence, and cultural identity, expanding the show’s focus beyond the original group of maids. Daniela’s arrival introduces new conflicts and emotional dynamics, particularly within Rosie’s life, and allows Rodríguez to take on a character balancing humor, defiance, and vulnerability.
Outside of "Devious Maids," Rodríguez continues working in television and film, building a career across both English- and Spanish-language projects. Her role as Daniela marks an important step in her transition into U.S. television, giving her a prominent place in the series’ later seasons and introducing her to a broader audience.
