Courtney Sauls stars as Brooke Morgan on "Dear White People," the Winchester student who is part of the show’s broader campus ensemble. Sauls reprises the role from the original film, where the character is credited as Wild, and on the series Brooke appears as part of the student world surrounding the main group. Although she begins as a recurring player rather than one of the original central leads, Brooke remains part of the show’s continuing expansion of life at Winchester and is elevated to the main cast in the fourth and final season.
Before joining "Dear White People," Sauls had already appeared in the 2014 feature film version of "Dear White People," which gave her a direct connection to the material before the Netflix adaptation began. That continuity made her one of the performers who helped carry the story world from the film into the series. Her role on the show placed her inside Justin Simien’s ongoing exploration of campus life, race, friendship, and identity.
In addition to her work on "Dear White People," Sauls has built credits in television and film, but her connection to the "Dear White People" franchise remains one of the defining parts of her screen résumé. Because she appears in both the film and series versions, her presence helps link the two versions of the property more directly than actors who joined only for the television adaptation.
Outside of "Dear White People," Sauls has continued working as an actress, but Brooke Morgan remains one of the roles most closely associated with her screen career. On the series, she contributes to the show’s wider student perspective and becomes one of the performers brought more prominently forward by the time of the final season.
